MModal Inc. (MODL: Quote) announced after the bell Monday that it agreed to be acquired by One Equity Partners, the private investment arm of JP Morgan Chase & Co. (JPM: Quote), for $14.00 per share in an all-cash transaction.
MModal gapped open higher Tuesday, but traded in a narrow range for the majority of the session. The stock closed up by 1.09 at $14.02 on the highest volume of the year. MModal closed challenging the highs of the year, trading at over an 11-month high.
