The Strokes are already in the studio at work on the follow-up to their most recent release Angles. Speaking with NME, guitarist Albert Hammond Jr.'s father, songwriter Albert Hammond Sr. said they are thrilled with the progress.
"Albert says that the stuff they're doing is incredible. They're doing it themselves with their friend, engineer and producer. He just says 'Dad, it's incredible'," Hammond Sr. tells the site.
When asked if he had any insights into the sound of the album, Hammond said not to expect any major departures:
"I don't think they'll go in a wildly different direction. Obviously the songs will be different, but I think the Strokes are the Strokes; they always will be the Strokes."
