During afternoon trading on Wednesday, the US dollar edged down against major European currencies from morning session's uptrend. The greenback is presently trading near 0.9583 against the Swiss franc, 1.2537 versus the euro and 1.5604 against the British pound from early highs of 0.9606, 1.2509 and 1.5577, respectively.
