Even though Carrie Underwood has only known Lauren Alaina for a short time, she can't help but feel like an older sister to the former American Idol runner-up.

"All of us Idol people, we're all part of this club," Underwood tells TheBoot.com. "All the people that have come to Nashville since their days on Idol, everybody is genuinely talented and genuinely nice, and Lauren is no exception."

Carrie helped to write Alaina's new single "18 Inches," co-writing the song with songwriters Kelley Lovelace and Ashley Gorley.

"It's amazing to have an artist like Carrie Underwood, whom I look up to so much write my single," Alaina says. "Kelley, Ashley, and Carrie all did a wonderful job writing such an incredible song. I feel so honored to be able to bring to life the beautiful story within the song."
