Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin pled guilty to cocaine possession charges on July 4. The rocker was arrested on the same charges back in April but, according to TMZ.com, it's unlikely that he'll spend any time in prison.
Scantlin was initially charged with two misdemeanors—one for drug possession and one for driving without a license. According to various sources he was able to avoid serving jail time by pleading guilty to the drug charge, and eventually getting both of the misdemeanors dropped. He will also complete a drug rehabilitation program.
The news comes at a tumultuous moment for Scantlin, who is also completing a divorce from his wife Jessica Nicole. He made headlines earlier this week when it was revealed that he signed his divorce documents with several smiley faces.
"It's most definitely the first time in all my years of doing this work that I've have had an opposing party sign with a smiley face on a divorce decree imposing maximum spousal support," says Nicole's attorney Brian Kramer.
