Alicia Keys' Keep A Child Alive Foundation will pay tribute to Oprah Winfrey at its upcoming Black Ball on November 1. The ninth annual fundraising event take places at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.
In an official statement, Keys praised Winfrey as "a personal inspiration to me because her philanthropic work truly comes from the heart." Winfrey's recent philanthropy has focused on building schools in Africa.
Keys added that this year's Black Ball will pay "special tribute to the empowerment of women — the heartbeat, soul, and backbone of the AIDS movement."
Winfrey follows past honoress President Bill Clinton, Sir Richard Branson and Bono from U2.
Keep A Child Alive was founded in 2003 and raises money and awareness for the AIDS epidemic in Africa and various social concerns in India.
