In November of 1981, the Rolling Stones and Muddy Waters teamed up for an impromptu jam at Waters' Checkerboard Lounge in Chicago. That performance was captured and will be released to DVD under the title, Muddy Waters And Rolling Stones - Live At The Checkerboard Lounge.
The Stones were in town for a three night stand at the Rosemount Horizon, and visited Waters' club, and before long Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Ian Stewart joined in on stage. Then, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells and Lefty Dizz also got in on the performance.
The footage includes Jagger prancing around the stage in a track suit, joining Muddy on "Mannish Boy."
Muddy Waters And Rolling Stones - Live At The Checkerboard Lounge was released July 10 via Eagle Rock Entertainment. Bob Clearmountain, a longtime Stones collaborator, has mixed the set.
