Ken Jeong has signed on for a role in the third iteration of "The Hangover" franchise. The doctor-turned-standup-comic-turned-actor's role will be "significantly expanded" the third time around, sources disclosed to the Hollywood Reporter.

Jeong's recent credits include "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," "Knocked Up" and "Despicable Me."

Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis will all reprise their roles from the first two films, while Mike Tyson is confirmed for another cameo.

Helmer Todd Phillips previously revealed that the third installment would be the final:

"We're going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned. It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions."

"The Hangover Part III" is scheduled to begin filming in September for a May 2013 release.
