Florence and the Machine had to pull out of their scheduled performance at the Benicassim Festival in Spain on July 12. Reps for front woman Florence Welch announced that the cancellation was due to "acute vocal strain causing swelling of the vocal cords."
Festival organizers also confirmed the news and said that they would not add a new act to fill Welch's headlining spot due to a lack of time:
"Given the sudden and unexpected illness suffered by Miss Welch, FIB 2012 organisation has been unable to find a substitute in such a small time frame."
Other acts for the event, which runs through July 15, include Bob Dylan, the Stone Roses, David Guetta, Ed Sheeran, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and New Order.
