Jason Kidd is facing drunk driving charges after crashing his Cadillac Escalade into a telephone pole in New York's swanky Hamptons area over the weekend. The newly inked Knicks star was treated for minor injuries in a nearby hospital following the wreck.
Kidd was reportedly driving in Water Mill, New York when he hit the pole at about 2:00 a.m. on Sunday. He was reportedly attending a benefit called "Fostering a Legacy," hosted by music star Ne-Yo and George Lucas in East Hampton. He also owns a summer home in the area.
After receiving treatment Kidd was arraigned on DUI charges and subsequently released from custody. The future NBA hall of fame player inked a $9.5 million contract with the Knicks earlier this month, reports people.com.
