McMoRan Exploration Q2 Loss Widens - Quick Facts

McMoRan Exploration Co. (MMR: Quote) posted second-quarter net loss applicable to common stock of $75.5 million or $0.47 per share versus net loss of $50.2 million or $0.32 per share last year.

Loss from continuing operations for the quarter was $63.33 million or $0.46 per share compared to the loss of $37.87 million or $0.31 per share a year ago.

Quarterly revenues fell to $90.3 million from $158.31 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.13 per share on revenues of $96.55 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
