Zac Brown Band's latest studio album Uncaged sees the band working in various genres. Zac Brown, speaking on the new LP, says some of the tracks feature an R&B influence.
"I'm about to get tender on ya'," Brown told CMT about the track "Overnight." "It's definitely us. It sounds like us. But the arrangement and everything is straight-up R&B."
And as the band's multi-instrumentalist Clay Cook put it, the R&B dabbling suits them:
"We're a vocal band and then the kind of music we decide to put around it is whatever we want it to be for that song. Each song has its own life. People are like, 'You've got an R&B song on there?' You've got to listen to it. In a weird way, it all works together."
