Katy Perry and Russell Brand have finalized their divorce. According to various sources, the celebrity couple's split was finalized on Monday, in a proceeding that came six months after they both signed divorce papers.
The pair was married for fourteen months before they decided to part ways. Neither have opened up on the official cause of the split, but a source close to both the singer and comic said they disagreed on starting a family. Brand was allegedly in favor while Katy wanted to hold off.
"[Russell] feels there's no point in being married if you don't have kids," an unnamed source tells Us Weekly of the split, adding that the 37-year-old comedian was "ready to move on."
The pair settled the divorce in a reasonably amicable fashion, with neither claiming money. Brand also reportedly gave Perry rights to their $6.5 million home.
