Queen's 1975 classic "Bohemian Rhapsody" has been voted the number one single of the United Kingdom over the past sixty years in a poll conducted by The Official Charts Company.

"Rhapsody" edged Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" for the top spot. Adele's "Someone Like You" came in third, while "Don't Look Back in Anger (Oasis) and "Hey Jude" (the Beatles) came in fourth and fifth, respectively.

"Taken from Queen's fourth album, 1975's A Night At The Opera, 'Bohemian Rhapsody' reached the top of the Official Singles Chart on November 2nd of that year giving the band their first ever number one single. It became the first record since Paul Anka's million-selling "Diana" to spend nine weeks at the summit and its sales, too, passed the 1,000,000 mark," the Charts Company noted of the track.
