First South Bancorp Q2 Profit Up - Quick Facts

First South Bancorp Inc. (FSBK: Quote) reported second-quarter net income of $481 thousand or $0.05 per share, compared to $382 thousand or $0.04 per share in the prior year quarter.

Net interest income for the latest quarter declined to $7.5 million from $8.2 million in the comparable quarter last year, while total non-interest income increased to $2.7 million from $2.5 million in the year-ago period.

Data-storage products maker NetApp Inc. said Tuesday after the markets closed that its fourth quarter profit fell 4% from last year, hurt mainly by higher operating expenses even as revenue grew slightly. However, the company's quarterly earnings per share, excluding items, came in above analysts' expectations, but its quarterly revenue fell short of analysts' forecast.
