Noble Corp. Q2 Profit More-Than-Doubles - Quick Facts

Noble Corp. (NE: Quote) Wednesday reported a sharp increase in profit for the second quarter, driven mainly by higher revenues.

The Baar, Switzerland-based company's attributable net profit for the second quarter was $159.82 million or $0.63 per share, compared to $54.08 million or $0.21 per share last year.

On average, 30 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.57 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total operating revenues for the quarter grew to $898.92 million from $628.0 million in the prior-year quarter. Twenty two analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $895.74 million for the quarter.
