El Paso Pipeline Q2 Profit Falls

El Paso Pipeline Partners, L.P. (EPB) reported second-quarter Limited Partner's net income of $91 million or $0.44 per share, down from $98 million or $0.50 per share in the year-ago comparable quarter.

Limited Partners' net income before certain items for the quarter was $96 million or $0.46 per share, compared to $84 million or $0.42 per share last year.

On average, 13 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.51 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically excludes special items.

Revenues for the latest quarter declined to $367 million from $383 million in the same period last year.

Six analysts expected revenues of $360.12 million for the quarter.

Looking forward, EPB said that it expects to generate almost $1.2 billion in earnings before DD&A in 2012.

The company also noted that it has increased its quarterly cash distribution per common unit to $0.55 payable on August 14 to unitholders of record as of July 31.
