Canada's consumer price index for June is due at 8:30 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the loonie showed mixed performance against its major counterparts. While the loonie moved sideways against the aussie, it slipped against the yen and the greenback. Against the euro, the loonie spiked up.
At 8:25 am ET, the loonie was worth 1.0103 against the greenback, 1.2324 against the euro, 1.0503 against the aussie and 77.83 against the yen.
