Paul Simon and Eric Clapton both make guest appearances on Jerry Douglas' new album, Traveler. The instrumentalist's new record features a number of guest stars besides Simon and Clapton, including Mumford and Sons, Marc Cohn, Alison Krauss and Keb' Mo.
Douglas, who traditionally has produced bluegrass music, told Billboard that the guest appearances helped him to "get out of my comfort zone."
"I wanted to get about as far away from bluegrass as I could," Douglas added.
The track that Clapton appears on, "Something You Got," has more of a blues feel, which, of course, many will argue Slowhand lives and breathes.
Simon, meanwhile, appears on "The Boxer," which is an updated take on the old Simon & Garfunkel classic. Also appearing on the track is indie band Mumford & Sons.
Traveler is in stores now.
