Turkey Tourist Arrivals Rebound In June

Turkey's tourist arrivals rebounded in June, after falling for four consecutive months, provisional data released by by the Ministry of Tourism showed Monday.

Compared to June last year, the number of foreign tourists visiting the country increased by 2.7 percent to around 3.88 million in June this year, reversing the 1.53 percent decrease seen in May and the 5.33 percent fall recorded in April. The latest increase came after four consecutively monthly declines.

As munch as 6.98 percent of the total tourists visiting the country in June were excursionists, the agency said.

In the January-June period, the number of tourists decreased 2.33 percent from a year earlier to around 12.72 billion. Excursionists accounted for 4.98 percent of the total tourists arrived during the six-month period, data showed.
