Columbia Pictures is reportedly planning a reboot of their 1995 film "Jumanji." The film starred Robin Williams and was adapted from Chris Van Allsburg's children's book of the same name.

Williams was joined in the original film by a young Kirsten Dunst as well as Bonnie Hunt, Patricia Clarkson and Bebe Neuwirth. The story centers on a pair of kids who stumble onto a haunted board game and must seek the help of a troubled older man to help complete the game.

The studio revealed the news in an official statement to hollywoodreporter.com saying: "We're going to try and reimagine Jumanji and update it for the present."

The original release was a box office smash, pulling in more the $260 million during its release. Thus far there is no word as to possible stars or a production schedule for the reboot.
