Sweden's Trade Surplus Rises In June

Sweden's trade balance showed a surplus of SEK 9.3 billion in June compared with a surplus of SEK 7.2 billion in the same period of last year, Statistics Sweden reported Thursday. The surplus figure matched economists' expectations.

The value of exports grew 2 percent annually to SEK 103.1 billion, while imports remained unchanged at SEK 93.8 billion.

Trade with countries outside the EU resulted in a surplus of SEK 16.2 billion in June. Meanwhile, the EU trade resulted in a deficit of SEK 6.9 billion.

The net trade surplus totaled SEK 6.6 billion on a seasonally adjusted basis in June, unchanged from May.
