William Balfour has been issued three life sentences after his conviction for the murder of three of Jennifer Hudson's family members.
Prior to the sentence, he offered words of sympathy for the youngest of his victims, seven-year-old, Julian King, J-Hud's nephew:
"My deepest sympathies go to Julian King. I loved him. I still love him."
However, the judge, Charles Burns, did not believe Balfour's emotional appeal, calling his claim to have loved King "an insult to all of us."
"Your heart is an arctic night, and your soul is as barren as dark space," Burns added.
Balfour's convictions include first degree murder in the deaths of Jennifer's mom Darnell Donerson, her brother Jason Hudson and King. He was also convicted of home invasion and residential burglary.
