Barry Gibb will make his debut at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry on Friday, July 27. With a career that has spanned more than five decades, the former Bee Gee is one of the most prolific singer/songwriter/producers in recent memory.
In a statement, Gibb says the upcoming performance is a longstanding dream come true:
"I have dreamed of performing on the hallowed stage of the Opry since I was 12 years old. So this is a dream come true for me. There is no greater honor."
Barry is the sole surviving member of the Bee Gees. Robin died in May at age 62. Maurice died in 2003. Barry's younger brother, Andy, who was also a pop superstar, died in 1988 at age 30.
