Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniel, of the legendary rap group Run DMC, joined Aerosmith onstage earlier this week (July 24) at Rutherford, New Jersey's IZOD Center for a performance of the group's classic track, "Walk This Way."

In 1986, Run DMC, with help from Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, took the track to number four on Billboard's Hot 100. Video of the July 24 performance is currently circulating the web.

However, DMC's partner, Joseph "Run" Simmons, was not part of the recreation of the 1986 hit.

Tyler and DMC hugged after the performance, prompting Tyler to say "That's a little bit of history right there."

Aerosmith are currently doing a Live Nation promoted-Global Warming tour, which commenced on June 16.

Their latest album, Music from Another Dimension, is due November 6.
