Gun men on Sunday shot dead Mohammad Ismael Wafa, governor of the restive Chak district, reports said.

The governor was on his way to office. Mohammad Ismael Wafa's son was also with him when the incident occurred.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack.
