Trace Adkins teamed up with the Urban Ministry Center and the Maxwell House Community Project for the Drops of Good program to help renovate a community center for the homeless in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"I signed on with Maxwell House folks several months ago and they had this competition to find some community centers in need of renovations," the singer told WCNC.
"Maxwell House came in and did $50k of renovations on them — Charlotte's the first one we're doing," he added.
Trace was on hand at the Charlotte event where he cut the ribbon on the restored building.
"I try to do things to give back. I do all kinds of charity things. This is one that I was proud to be associated with," Adkins said.
The program has pledged $150,000 for a total of three such renovations, including one in St. Paul, Minnesota and another in Detroit, Michigan.
