Japanese automobile production logged a double-digit growth again in June, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said Monday.
Driven by a sharp growth in domestic sales, auto production was up 20.3 percent in June from a year ago to 893,149 units. Domestic sales surged 43.6 percent.
During the first half of the year, auto production increased significantly by 53 percent to 5.25 million units.
On the other hand, motorcycle production fell 24.1 percent annually and domestic sales dipped 0.9 percent in June. Nonetheless, motorcycle output gained 5.1 percent during the first half of the calender year 2012.
