Taylor Swift's parents, Merrill Lynch financial adviser father Scott and homemaker mother Andrea, are rumored to have been separated for the past two years and now heading for divorce after 25 years of marriage.
"The Swift's stopped wearing their wedding rings," an insider said speaking to Star. "They haven't filed for a divorce because they don't want it to damage Taylor's career."
"She's been going through a lot," added Star's source. "The new album will showcase the pain of her parents' separation."
Her mother has been on tour with Taylor in past years which has presumably placed an undue degree of stress on the marriage. The Swifts have one other child, Austin.
Swift herself recently spoke on the lyrics for her upcoming album saying, "They're sad, if I'm being honest."
