Internet Patents Slips To Loss

Internet Patents Corp. (PTNT: Quote) Monday reported second quarter net loss of $0.9 million or $0.12 per basic share, compared to net income of about $1 million or $0.17 per basic share in the prior year.

The company, as in the prior year, did not report any revenues for the reporting quarter.

Moving forward, Internet Patents said it expects third-quarter operating expenses of $0.6 to $0.7 million.

Australia Consumer Morale Falls Sharply On Budget

Analog Devices, Inc. said that its second quarter profit rose slightly from last year, helped mainly by lower income tax expenses even as revenue declined 2%. The company's quarterly earnings per share, excluding items, came in line with analysts' expectations. However, the company forecast third quarter revenue and earnings below analysts' current consensus estimates.
