The Indian rupee that opened higher against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday pared gains shortly. The rupee is now trading at 55.5655 against the greenback, down from early high of 55.4055. The pair ended Monday's deals at 55.425.
Reserve Bank of India's quarterly monetary policy review is due shortly.
