Ambev Q2 Profit Improves - Quick Facts

Brazilian brewer Companhia de Bebidas Das Americas - Ambev (ABV: Quote), or Ambev, reported profit of R$1.93 billion for the second quarter versus R$1.83 billion last year. Earnings per share grew to R$0.62 from R$0.59 in the prior year.

Normalized profit were up to R$1.96 billion or R$0.63 per share from last year's R$1.84 billion or R$0.59 per share.

EBITDA for the quarter rose year-over-year to R$2.95 billion from R$2.58 billion. Normalized EBITDA climbed to R$2.98 billion from R$2.58 billion in the previous year.

Net sales for the three-month period advanced to R$6.83 billion from R$5.81 billion in the comparable quarter a year ago.
