DigitalGlobe, Inc. (DGI: Quote) Tuesday reported a second-quarter profit of $9.6 million or $0.21 per share, compared to a loss of $0.9 million or $0.02 per share in the same period last year.

On average, 10 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.11 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Revenues totaled $101.8 million, up 23 percent from $82.5 million. Analysts expected revenues of $92.59 million.

The company's quarterly earnings per share, excluding items, also came in above analysts' expectations as did its quarterly sales.
