Team Health Holdings Inc. (TMH) Tuesday reported a decline in profit for the second quarter, not withstanding a double-digit growth in revenues.
The Knoxville, Tennessee-based company's second-quarter net profit was $14.12 million or $0.21 per share, compared to $16.85 million or $0.25 per share last year.
Adjusted income for the quarter rose to $26.36 million or $0.39 per share from $24.24 million or $0.36 per share in the prior-year quarter.
On average, 10 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.39 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues for the quarter grew 18.5 percent to $506.30 million from $427.24 million in the prior-year quarter. Nine analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $493.58 million for the quarter.
