American Capital, Ltd. (ACAS) Tuesday reported a profit for the second quarter, compared to a loss last year.
Net realized earnings for the quarter was $12 million or $0.04 per share, compared to a loss of $177 million or $0.49 per share in the same period last year.
Net operating income was $194 million or $0.58 per share, compared to $71 million or $0.20 per share last year.
On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.21 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Assets under management totaled $101.08 billion, flat with last year.
NAV for the quarter was $16.62 per share, compared to $15.71 per share last year.
