Ten fans of the Who, who bought tickets to a 1979 show in Providence, Rhode Island — which was canceled — have redeemed the tickets for the band's Quadrophenia tour stop in February of 2013, according to the Providence Journal.
The Who's 1979 Providence show was nixed by then-Mayor Vincent A. Cianci Jr. after a fatal audience stampede at a show in Cincinnati two weeks earlier. The band hasn't returned to Providence since.
Ed McConnell, one of the fans who admits to being "pretty angry" upon hearing of the cancelation over thirty years ago, says he never lost track of the ticks:
"I knew exactly where they (the tickets) were," he said. "One of them was sitting in a cigar box in a closet and the other one was stuck on a cork board in my parents house in my brother's old bedroom."
The Who will play at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on February 26.
