European Online Recruitment Activity Improves In July

8/3/2012 12:54 AM ET

Europe's online recruitment activity improved in July from a year ago, Monster Worldwide reported Friday.

The employment index climbed 2 percent annually, marginally higher than June's 1 percent rise. The index remained unchanged at 142 in July compared to June.

Germany continued to lead all regions at 13 percent growth, while Sweden remains flat. The Netherlands, France, Italy, Belgium and U.K. all reported reduced demand in online recruitment activity year-over-year.

"However, while the uncertain outlook of the Eurozone continues to impact recruitment levels, it is encouraging to see over half of industries remain positive in July, with sectors such as architecture, education and manufacturing seeing stronger demand," says Alan Townsend, Vice President of Sales Readiness and Business Operations for Monster Europe.
