Business conditions across Hong Kong private sector improved in July, a survey by Markit Economics revealed Friday.
The headline HSBC Purchasing Managers' Index rose to 50.3 in July from 49.8 in June. This was the first PMI reading above the 50 no-change threshold in three months. A reading above 50 indicates expansion of the sector.
The volume of new orders received by private sector firms increased for the second month running. At the same time, employment fell for a third consecutive month.
