Retail Sales in Slovakia decreased from last year in June, data released by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Friday.
Retail sales turnover, excluding automobiles, decreased 0.9 percent on an annual basis in June, reversing the previous month's 0.6 percent increase.
Retail sales of food, beverages and tobacco in specialized stores decreased 8.4 percent annually during the month, while sales of automotive fuel increased 4.7 percent. Sales of other household equipment in specialized stores were lower by 5.6 percent compared to June 2011.
Month-on-month, retail trade turnover edged down 0.3 percent in June. In the six months ended June, sales moved up 0.3 percent from the corresponding period a year earlier, the agency said.
