The euro crept up against the currencies of Japan, U.S. and U.K. in New York trading on Friday.
The euro is now trading at 1.2333 against the greenback, up from an early Asian session's low of 1.2168.
Against the yen and pound, the European single currency approached a 1-week high of 97.05 and a 3-week high of 0.7915, compared to early lows of 95.05 and 0.7845, respectively.
