Power Financial Corp. (PWF.TO) reported that its second-quarter net earnings attributable to common shareholders were C$433 million or C$0.61 per share, compared with C$507 million or C$0.71 per share in the corresponding period in 2011.
Operating earnings were C$448 million or C$0.63 per share, compared with C$507 million or C$0.72 per share in the second quarter of 2011. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of C$0.60 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues for the quarter rose to C$8.374 billion from C$7.784 billion in the year ago quarter.
The company said its Board of Directors also declared a quarterly dividend of 35 cents per share on the Corporation's common shares payable November 1, 2012 to shareholders of record September 28, 2012.
