Louisiana Bancorp Inc. (LABC) Friday reported an increase in profit for the second quarter, due mainly higher incomes.
The Metairie, Louisiana-based company's second-quarter net profit was $616 thousand or $0.22 per share, compared to $457 thousand or $0.15 per share last year.
Net interest income for the quarter grew to $2.50 million from $2.42 million in the year-ago quarter. Total non-interest income rose to $544 thousand from $243 thousand in the prior-year quarter.
For the quarter, the company posted a provision for loan losses of $73 thousand compared to a recovery of loan losses of $67 thousand last year.
