Gastar Reports Resumption Of Shut-in Production In Marshall County

Gastar Exploration Ltd. (GST: Quote) reported that repairs have been completed at the third-party operated midstream central receipt point that compresses and gathers all of the Company's production in Marshall County, West Virginia and operations have resumed.

Effective August 3, 2012, Gastar's production in Marshall County is back on-line and flowing at the volume previous to being temporarily shut-in.

Gastar estimates that total net production lost during the eight days is approximately 181 MMcfe or the equivalent of 2.0 MMcfe per day for the third quarter of 2012.

Stocks moved sharply higher over the course of the trading day on Friday, more than offsetting the weakness seen on Thursday. While the IRS targeting scandal has taken center stage on Capitol Hill on Friday, the results of a new Gallup poll showed that the American public's interest in the story is comparatively low based on historical measures. The poll showed that 54 percent of Americans are following the news that the IRS targeted conservative groups for greater scrutiny "very" or "somewhat" closely.
