Entercom Communications Slips To Loss In Q2

Entercom Communications Corp. (ETM: Quote) reported a second-quarter net loss of $3.2 million or $0.09 per share, compared to the net income of $48.7 million or $1.29 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the quarter was $9.0 million or $0.24 per share, compared to $11.8 million or $0.31 per share in the year-ago quarter.

On average, 2 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.18 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net revenues for the latest quarter was $104.57 million, compared to $104.65 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $103.76 million for the quarter.

After reporting a sharp drop in new orders for manufactured durable goods in the previous month, the Commerce Department released a report on Friday showing that durable goods orders rebounded by more than anticipated in the month of April. The report said durable goods orders surged up by 3.3 percent in April after tumbling by a revised 5.9 percent in March.
