Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and the Republican Party outraised President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party for the third straight month in July, according to fundraising numbers revealed on Monday.

The Romney campaign and the Republican National Committee reported raising over $101.3 million in July, down slightly from $106.1 million in June.

Despite the modest drop compared to the previous month, Romney's fundraising total still exceeded the $75 million raised by the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Romney's campaign said 94.1 percent of the donations received in July were $250 or less, while the Obama campaign said 98 percent of contributions were $250 or less.

Romney Victory National Finance Chairman Spencer Zwick and RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said, "Once again we see that for many people, this is more than a campaign, it is a cause."

"We are honored to have the support of a broad spectrum of donors—Independents, Democrats and Republicans—whose support of Governor Romney shows that he has the needed plan to jumpstart our economy and get the country on the right track again," Zwick added.

The Romney campaign, RNC and state party participants have approximately $185.9 million cash on hand compared to approximately $160 million in June, the campaign said.
