The Rolling Stones earned a tip of the hat from MGMT over the weekend during their performance at the Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal for the Osheaga Festival. The "Time to Pretend" hit makers offered up a cover of the Stones classic ballad "Angie."
The indie rock phenoms hit the festival in support of their most recent effort Congratulations, and front man Andrew VanWyngarden flexed his vocal chords in the tribute to Mick Jagger and company.
With help from the audience VanWyndarden finished the track adding a few of his own lyrics, singing: "They can't say we never tried to cover that song." It's not, however, the only recent classic rock cover for the duo, as they also added a Fleetwood Mac track "Future Games" to the tribute album Just Tell Me That You Want Me.
