Canadian aviation-training and simulation products provider CAE, Inc. (CAE: Quote,CAE.TO: Quote) on Tuesday said it has sold three full-flight simulators or FFSs to Air China Ltd. (AIRYY.PK) for the Airbus A320, A330 and Boeing 737 aircraft. The contracts, which are worth a total of C$42 million at list prices, bringing the total number of FFS sales till date during fiscal year 2013 to 10.
Jeff Roberts, CAE's Group President, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services, said, "The contracts with long-time customer Air China reflect CAE's continued leadership position in China. Air China has been a CAE simulator customer for nearly two decades, and we are privileged to continue to serve their flight training needs."
The company noted that the simulators will be deployed to the Air China training centre in Beijing in 2013. Each FFS will include the third-generation CAE Tropos-6000 visual system.
In a separate statement, CAE said it has been selected as a preferred training supplier by low-cost airline easyJet Plc (EZJ.L). easyJet also extended its long-term pilot training services agreement with CAE in a contract valued at more than C$60 million. CAE also provides crew sourcing services to easyJet.
