Dr Reddy Laboratories Launches Generic Singulair - Quick Facts

Dr Reddy Laboratories Ltd (RDY: Quote) Tuesday said it has launched Montelukast Sodium Tablets 10 mg and Montelukast Sodium Chewable Tablets of 4 mg and 5 mg in the US market on August 6, after the United States Food & Drug Administration approved its ANDA.

These are bioequivalent generic versions of Singulair tablets and chewable tablets. Dr. Reddy's said its Montelukast Sodium Tablets in 10 mg and Montelukast Sodium Chewable Tablets in 4 mg and 5 mg are available in bottle counts of 30 and 90.

The Singulair tablets and Chewable tablets brand had U.S. sales of around $3.6 billion and $1.14 billion, respectively, for the twelve months ending March 2012, according to IMS Health.
