Jennifer Lawrence has signed on to play the female lead in the upcoming film "Ends of the Earth." According to Variety, the Oscar-nominated actress will star in the role of Lydie, a young girl adopted by her aunt and uncle, who eventually marries the uncle.
Lydie becomes a well known socialite who also pushed her former uncle, oil tycoon Ernest Marland, to raise worker wages and provide healthcare. Eventually, the pair lose their riches.
In the meantime, Lawrence's roles include "House At The End Of The Street" with Elisabeth Shue, "The Hunger Games" sequel "Catching Fire" and "X-Men: Days Of Future Past."
Production on "Ends of the Earth," which is based on a true story, begins next summer.
