The Band Perry and Rascal Flatts are two of the artists to be featured in this year's holiday music series, A Very Special Christmas. Other country artists contributing tracks to the 25th anniversary edition of the compilation are Vince Gill and Amy Grant.

The comp, which benefits the Special Olympics, also includes non-country artists such as Christina Aguilera, Francesca Battistelli, Michael Bublé, Cheap Trick, Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz, One Republic, Train and Wonder Girls.

The Very Special Christmas series has, since 1987, allowed the best voices in the recording industry to create the "single most successful benefit recording series in musical history generating more than $100 million in royalties to benefit Special Olympics," according to PR Newswire.

The new album was announced August 6 in Nashville at Blackbird Studios, where members of Train are recording "Joy to the World" for the project.
